For once, there was no drama and everything went pretty smoothly: I added layer after layer of color, fixing things here and there as I went without stressing out too much. True enjoyment!
Now I have a couple of small drawings in mind for Bella's room plus a new big project work related that I will not probably going to show here, at least at the beginning...but I'll come back to this series as soon as I can (taking advantage of the days off around Christmas).
Talk to you soon!
I hope you all had a fun Thanksgiving (or, for those outside the States a restful weekend ;)).

Deleteoh so very beautiful!
ReplyDeletetruly a masterpiece. gosh, those roses!
the whispering and kisses.
Is that latin? Can you tell us what it says?
So wonderful that this piece flowed out of you with grace.
Yes, it's Latin. It means:
Delete"What (you say) under the rose must not be repeated.
It does not matter if something is true or false, it must be kept untold, once it's revealed under the rose"
The rose is a symbol of love and passion, but also of secrets that must be kept...;)
oh, thank you! so good to know. I love that.
ReplyDeleteI read in one of John O'Donohue's books that something our modern culture is lacking is the ability to hold secrets, confidences, honor ones story by holding it and not spreading it. I think we need safe places like under roses and in our friends ears and hearts to say things that do not go anywhere else. Gosh, I love this part of your painting!
Thank you! We are so use to broadcast our personal lives online that we sometime forget the value of privacy and of things left unsaid or confided to those closest to us.
DeleteIn ancient times, roses were hung in tavern to signify that the conversations that took place there were considered confidential.
Let's brandish a bouquet of roses to fight off gossips and gossipers...;)
yes, let's brandish ~
DeleteAmazing! Wonderful to see all the stages of color. The flowers and costumes are just delightful.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much Cindy for stopping by and for you lovely comment. :)
