Three more faces I did yesterday night. This time I took the plunge, let the safety net of penciling the faces first, and went directly to the inks. I just used a regular pen and went with the flow, without thinking too much of the outcome...3 pretty different individual came into being. What are their stories?

See you tomorrow!
:) I definitely see a story going on here.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they are sisters with a tumultuous childhood that left them scarred and estranged. One of them has chose a path of peace and meditation and maybe tries to reunite the family...or maybe not...;)
Deletethe type of drawing you described i sometimes call evening meditations. Just sketching and inking, so relaxing. Fun to consider the stories of your characters.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's a wonderful stress reliever. You kind of wash away all the busy thoughts of the day and go to your happy zone to prepare for sleep...;)
DeleteSuper faces! Love the hatching shading details you use. I love the first lady with her side glare. Really nice art!
ReplyDeleteThanks! To tell you the truth, the lady with the side glare got more shading that I had planned, because there was a moment I accidentally gave her a mustache...so the whole face had to go darker!:D
DeleteYou have a good flow! Soon You have Your hands in our speed. (Sorry my English, hope You know what I mean :-)
ReplyDeleteThese are very interesting drawings because all persons have different feeling. Very well drawn.
Hi Uuna, thanks!
DeleteI noticed that, unless I am making a portrait, in which case I have a reference, typically the expressions of my characters are rather serious and pensive. I need to learn to draw from my head a wider variety of emotions. This challenge has been a good venue for this exercise. :)
